Week 22

IT IS TIME – THE PROMISED LAND AWAITS

After 40 years in the wilderness, we are FINALLY going to enter the Promised Land! Yea! But what a DAUNTING task that is. Can you imagine how Joshua must be feeling, having to take the place of “the-one-and-only…MOSES”? Those are some pretty big sandals to fill. Watch as The Lord sends a couple mighty miracles their way, reminding Joshua and the Israelites to always BE STRONG & of a GOOOD COURAGE! We should do the same!  Hey – this is a FUN one… get ready to MOVE!

AND... I made this episode a FREE SAMPLE VIDEO (under the "DRAWN IN" tab), so TELL YOUR FRIENDS/FAMILY who haven't subscribed yet to go watch it and see what DRAWN IN has to offer!

BONUS VIDEO – There are so many similarities between Moses and Nephi, including some of the same geographical routes taken in the wilderness. SO, this week, I felt impressed to include this youtube video regarding the possible route LEHI & family could have taken in the wilderness. It is VERY fascinating & faith-promoting! I highly encourage you to watch it!

Let "THE SUMMER OF HEROES" BEGIN!!

(***PARENTS NOTE*** - Since these videos are for ALL ages, I obviously did not mention the Lord's command for the Israelites to completely destroy ALL the peoples in Canaan.  It's very difficult to understand why the Lord commanded it.  So, if it troubles you (like it does me), here's links to a couple insightful articles that might help give some perspective on this:

WEEK 21

Time to say “Goodbye” to Moses

Moses is probably THE most influential person of the Old Testament…have you enjoyed learning about this awesome Old Testament hero? Well, this week he offers us his final words before he is taken by the Lord, so we better pay close attention. Deuteronomy is full of powerful “Morals of the Story” of the Israelites journey from Egypt to the Promised land…and in this episode we focus on LIKENING those lessons to ourselves. AND… we finish with a fitting musical video tribute to Moses and how the Lord was ALWAYS his “ROCK”! Come clap along and celebrate “THE ROCK!”

FLASHBACK – and while we’re making THE ROCK comparison, lets visit a favorite scripture from the Book of Mormon on the topic --- featuring my two boys doing the ENTIRE episode! Oh boy.

Have a great CFM week! Spring is in the air, enjoy the change of the season! WE got some GREAT videos coming up for the summer, so get excited!

WEEK 20

CALEB & JOSHUA --- ORDINARY -or- EXTRORDINARY?

The Book of Numbers, to be totally honest, does not reflect too well on the Israelites! For the most part, it’s a lot of complaining and “learning lessons the hard way”. EXCEPT for two men who, despite facing seemingly insurmountable odds, show us how to put “EXTRA” into the “ORDINARY".  It’s an inspiring story, with a LIFE-ALTERING principle (if you catch the vision of it)! And we have a lot of fun little additions this week as well, for all ages to giggle a bit.

FLASHBACK – Many great Book of Mormon Heroes have this “Another Spirit” – and Abinadi is one of my favorites! Enjoy this other "IMPOSSIBLE MISSION" episode!

Oh, and these PDF sheets you see below… If you haven’t printed them yet for your kiddos, give it a try! As they say, “Out of sight, out of mind” right? So, these are meant to be displayed in your house during the week to remind your family of the principles and the WEEKLY CHALLENGE! It's what your family does when they are NOT watching the video that really matters!

WEEK 19

The TABERNACLE – How many Savior Symbols can you find?

This week, we learn all about the Tabernacle that Moses and the Israelites made!  It was to be a “traveling temple” and man, was it FULL of Symbols of the Savior. It was perfect for their time and circumstances…but what about OUR time? Can we find Symbols of Christ around us? YES! And that is a big focus of this episode --- not just ancient symbols, but what can you find around you today that can inspire you towards Christ and His love? And It’s a long episode (you may wanna split it in two).

And here’s the link to something mentioned in the video --- Understanding the Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur - YouTube

FLASHBACK Episode --- One great Type/Symbol of Christ in the Book of Mormon is Lachoneous.  Lachona – who?? Yea, I know, he’s on the B-list.  (But SHOULD be on the A list, in my book) Come discover his amazing story and how he was like the Savior (especially if you are a Lord of the Rings fan)

Hope these videos help this week! Thanks for your support of DRAWN IN! Tell a friend!

WEEK 18

The GOLDEN CALF INCIDENT - NOT their finest moment :(

This week, while Moses is atop Mount Sinai for an extended amount of time, the Israelites (who are not sure what to do without constant prophetal supervision) start to make some poor choices. Which points us to an important truth: In everyone’s journey to their “promised land”… there will always be “Golden Calf moments”: times when we are not our best selves & we goof up. I can certainly relate. But fortunately, we have the two “A”s --- AGENCY & ATONEMENT --- that make change, improvement, and our ultimate destiny possible. Lots of powerful gospel truths this week, couched in both SPIRITUAL & FUN formats as always.

& BE SURE TO DO "PAUSE VIDEO" INSTRUCTIONS!! :)

FLASHBACK EPISODE – in keeping with the topic of choices & commitments & staying true to our word…the story of the converted Anti-Nephi-Lehi’s in The Book of Mormon is most inspiring. Their commitment was a DECISION, not a FEELING. Intrigued? Learn more about it in this episode
